The poseidon grid module provides the T_Poseidon_Grid type (a descendent of the GEMS T_NEWS_Grid), and procedures for creating and initializing the grid. The T_Poseidon_grid object is ubiquitous throughout the model and diagnostice, largely for control of domain decomposition and dimension information.
X,Y EAST and WEST:
Throughout the description, we refer to x- and y-directions, often calling them "zonal" and "meridional". Because the grid is allowed to be a generalized orthogonal curvilinear coordinate, the meaning of x is the direction of increasing inner dimension array variables. y is the direction of the outer dimension.
