1.25 Degree Run

Analysis of Poseidon run in reduced gravity mode (Report by Barry Klinger pdf here)

Tropical Instability Waves as seen in Pacific SST from the last year of run ECOADS. Contour interval is 1 C.

Equatorial potential temperature for E-COADS (black), assimilation run (blue), and difference (red for positive, cyan for negative), for 4 months. E-COADS data is average of pairs of end-of-month climatology, while assimilation run is monthly average [of daily measures?]. Temperature contours are 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 C; difference contours are [.25, .5, 1, 2, 4] C

5/8 x 1/3 Degree Runs

C93.8 Run

This run was begun on Dec, 1969. It has a full barotropic component, and uses the Poseidon quasi-isopycnal quadratic spline remapping, 8th order Shapiro filter on velocity and mass, as well as a Biharmonic viscosity with Smagorinsky coefficients (but 0 background biharmonic viscosity). Run results for 1976 are featured, while we wait for the upgrade to halem's OS.

C93.6 Run

Barotropic component, realistic topography.

SST (Dec 31,1971)

Sea Surface Height (Jan 1, 2012)

Mixed Layer Depth (Dec 31, 1971)

Surface Current Speed (Oct 31, 1970)

This run is a spin-up with climatological boundary conditions

Antarctic Circumpolar Current Surface Speed

Tropical Instability Waves (Oct 31, 1970)

This is the same run as shown for the ACC instantaneous surface currents.
